The School of Applied and Engineering Physics is an academic and research institute focused on physical sciences and innovation, affiliated with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Morocco, and it is a formal member of QUBIC experiment, since September of 2025. Youssef Moulane (in the images with Jean-Christophe Hamilton), a research scientist in astronomy and astrophysics at the UM6P, will be Morocco’s representative.
UM6P is a forward-looking university committed to applied research and addressing African challenges, aiming to be a global leader in science and technology. Central to the School’s agenda is Cosmology: exploring the universe’s origin, structure, and evolution. By studying the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), dark matter, and gravitational waves, researchers tackle cutting-edge questions.
The team contributes with expertise in CMB data analysis, scan strategy optimization, and foreground modeling. The School benefits from highly skilled staff, robust computational infrastructure, and international collaborations. By combining theory, simulation, and instrumental innovation, the UM6P School aims to advance the scientific frontier and empower African researchers to answer the universe’s most fundamental questions.
